About these tools
112 single-purpose utilities across 10 categories, each on its own page, each doing one thing and doing it in your browser.
Why they exist
Most data work involves a stream of small mechanical questions. What is the epoch for this timestamp. What does this DDL actually declare. How many rows in this file have a null in that column. Each of those takes a minute if the right tool is at hand, and twenty if it is not.
These pages are that tool, one question at a time. They are free, they need no account, and they do not ask you to upload anything.
How they are built
Every utility is a static page. The work is done by a small number of shared engines, and a page loads exactly one of them — the date calculator never downloads the SQL engine. That is why the pages open quickly on a phone.
What we do not claim
We say processing happens locally in your browser, because that is a description of behaviour we control. We do not say this site is completely secure or that your data is safe, because those are claims about your whole environment, and no web page is in a position to make them.
The relationship to our products
BNS Data builds two products, DataLens and Yantra Studio. Some utilities here answer a question that one of those products answers permanently rather than once, and where that is genuinely true the page says so and links to the specific capability. Where it is not true, there is no link — a utility with no product connection is a perfectly good utility.
