These utilities process what you give them in your browser. This page describes exactly what that means, and what it does not mean.

What happens to what you paste

Each utility parses and transforms your input using code running on the page you are looking at. There is no request carrying your input to a server, because there is no server-side processing to send it to. If you disconnect from the network after the page loads, the utilities keep working.

We describe that as local processing rather than as security. Your browser, your extensions, your operating system and your clipboard are all still in the picture, and this site cannot make claims about them. If the data you are working with is sensitive enough that its handling matters, that assessment belongs to you and your organisation, not to this page.

What is stored

• Session storage holds the working text of a utility so that a refresh does not lose it. It is cleared when you close the tab.
• Local storage holds your option preferences for a utility — the indentation width you chose, for example. It never holds your input.
• Nothing is written to a cookie by this site.

Every one of those keys is namespaced, and the button on the home page removes all of them.

Analytics

Analytics are not currently enabled. When measurement is on, the only events recorded are:

• page_view
• execution_success
• execution_failure
• execution_duration_bucket

The content of your input is never part of an event. No utility reports what you pasted, what it produced, how long your document was in characters, or any value from it.

Advertising

Advertising is not currently enabled on this site. Space is reserved in the layout so that enabling it later does not move the page around. Ad slots are never placed inside an editor, inside an output area, or beside a control that deletes something.
